Euro 2024 has finally come to a close, and the regular European football season is exactly a month away. Before then, however, football fans can relish EA Sports unveiling its latest offering: EA Sports FC 25. This year’s installment comes with a host of exciting changes and innovations that will hopefully provide a new gaming experience for FIFA (oops, EA Sports FC) enthusiasts worldwide.
One of the most significant additions is the inclusion of women’s football in career modes. For the first time in the franchise’s history, players can manage or play in five major women’s leagues, including England’s Women’s Super League. The Women’s Champions League will also be featured, offering a more comprehensive and inclusive football experience.
Another groundbreaking feature is the introduction of “Live Start Points.” This allows players to begin their career mode at any point during a real-life season, incorporating actual results, transfers, and even managerial changes. It’s a dynamic way to engage with the game, offering new challenges based on real-world events.
The game also introduces “Rush,” a new five-versus-five mode integrated into various aspects of the game. This fast-paced, casual mode offers a different style of play on a smaller pitch, with unique rules like blue cards for temporary suspensions.
Perhaps the most important overhaul comes in the form of “FC IQ,” a new system that revamps tactics and positioning. This feature offers more granular control over team setup, with over 50 new assignable player roles. According to its description, it will deliver more authentic off-the-ball movement and tactical intelligence, powered by real-world Opta data.
Visually, EA Sports FC 25 is stepping up its game with the introduction of ray-tracing for enhanced graphics. New weather effects, including wind and rain, will impact gameplay, adding another layer of realism.
In a nod to football history, the game will allow players to take control of legendary stars in Player Career Mode, including Andrea Pirlo and Thierry Henry. Those who pre-order will have access to additional icons like Zinedine Zidane and David Beckham.
The cover athlete for this year’s edition is none other than Jude Bellingham, the 21-year-old Real Madrid and England star, making him the youngest global cover athlete in the game’s history.
EA Sports FC 25 is set to release on September 27, 2024, for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. EA Play subscribers and Ultimate Edition purchasers will get early access on September 20.
